It was a night that should have been filled with nothing but lurve and respect for the gay porn industry's sweetheart Brent Corrigan- having recieved accolades for "Best Professional Amateur Video", "Best Twink Video" and "Best Bottom Performer of the Year". However, at a function after the GAYVN awards, a ceremony in which Supervisor Bevan Dufty presented a commendation to Joan Irvine of the Association of Sites Advocating Child Protection one, Michael Lucas, took the stage in protest. After Irvine gave a brief speech during which she thanked the gay adult industry for its advocacy in combating child pornography- Lucas added, "“Shame on the judges who nominated and awarded Corrigan. On a night we honor ASACP there should be no forgiveness for the company’s and individuals who put the industry in danger by supporting this . . .” It is no surprise that Lucas would resort to such media-whoring-i.e. faking his own demise for the sake of sales. It is also not just coincidence that Corrigan's Summit defeated Lucas' Auditions 27: Michael Does Russia. In the immortal words of Rodney King: "Can't we all just get along?"
