HI all:

I thought I would post this here off the Spy Boy 2 movie review  A firend of mine borrowed my new SpyBoy 2 DVD, the newly released USA version distributed by Hot House.  

I got a phone call shortly afterwards from him complaining that the bareback scene which appears in the original European version has been deleted.  It just skips over it.

So I first wanted to note this, as this means there are two seperate versions now running around, to the confusion of Eurocreme fans.  And I know from my friends' tastes that people will be looking to get this movie and expect to see it.

Now, I happen to think Hot House is one of the best studios making movies, so I do not want to make personal attacks.  However, I do want to observe how this is simply a very unfortunate situation.  

When I was a kid in Dallas, our local television station took it upon themselves to edit out a scene from the original Star Trek episode "The Menagerie" - the scene in question was the titilating dance performed by Vina the green Orion slave girl - and the television station was owned by the Cristian Broadcasting Network/700 Club.  

It was so silly that the television station's actions drew newspaper articles lampooning their crazy editorial decision.

I cannot help but this of this comparison.  Now I am not calling the distributor anything as goofy as the 700 Club, but it is important to point out the actions and their similarities.  In Hot House's defense, I know that several large US mail order stores would simply not stock SpyBoy2 because it contains a bareback scene.  Neither will large video on demand companies.  And they are in business to make money.  And I can say that in all other cases with Hot House/Eurocreme, all the other US versions are worth every penny.

So whatever you moral feelings are - whether they be about taboo scenes in SpyBoy2 or in episodes of the original Star Trek television series - be aware that
the US version is edited for content.

If you live in the US and want the full version, you will have to order the PAL DVD from the "BUY UK / Euro" link on the review.

Make absoluetly sure your DVD player will play this format, otherwise it won't work.  A lot do.... but some do not.
